Georgina West

Director | Specialist Housing Occupational Therapist | Moving and Handing Risk Assessor and Trainer

Georgina qualified as an occupational therapist in 2009 and has worked full-time in the private sector since January 2016, when she founded OT33. Georgina specialises in the clinical areas of housing, adaptations, equipment and moving and handling. She has extensive experience working with adults with a wide range of long-term conditions and complex disabilities. She also supports to meet the housing and moving and handling needs of children and young people, alongside her paediatric colleagues. 

Georgina is passionate about occupational therapy and is a committed and client-focussed professional. She strives to ensure her clients can function as safely and independently as possible within their own homes and social environments. 

Georgina is skilled at providing comprehensive housing and equipment assessments, working collaboratively with her clients and their family, support workers, treating therapists, architects and contractors, to ensure all her client's functional needs and wishes are taken into account during housing projects. Georgina also holds a Level 4 Advanced People Handling and Risk Assessment Key Trainer's Certificate, providing bespoke/ client-specific training to privately employed support teams. 

Georgina is highly experienced at working within the context of litigation, having previously been a clinical case manager for 7 years alongside her occupational therapy role. Georgina maintains positive working relationships with clinical case managers, solicitors and Court of Protection deputies involved in her client's cases, to ensure that she can act as a sound advocate for her client's functional requirements and wishes.

Victoria Malcher

Victoria qualified as an occupational therapist in 2007 and has worked within the private sector since 2020; she became a Director of OT33 on the 1 April 2022. Victoria is a specialist housing & equipment occupational therapist with several years of clinical experience working within a busy social services department as a practice supervisor. She has worked with adults with a wide range of physical and neurological conditions, assisting them to create environments that are safe, functional and inclusive, whilst also supporting family members and carers to keep their loved ones safe.

Throughout her career Victoria has developed a range of specialisms including assistive technology and moving and handling. She is a skilled and warm-hearted therapist, utilising a strength-based approach with all of her clients.

Victoria is skilled at working alongside private clients and their families, clinical case managers, treating therapists and Court of Protection deputies. She prepares specialist housing and moving and handling reports, ensuring that all functional needs are considered as well as the personal wishes and goals of her clients. Victoria holds a Level 4 Advanced People Handling and Risk Assessment Key Trainer's Certificate and carries out training for people in their own homes with privately employed support teams. 

Victoria always ensures that she works collaboratively with everyone surrounding her client, to ensure all information is gathered and she can provide a sound clinical view of their needs and requirements.
